Today we hiked up Hawaii Loa ridge on the east side of Oahu. To get there, you drive past dozens of million dollar homes until you come to a parking lot next to a water tower. The trail begins there and ends at the top of the ridge. It was a great hike, although a little slippery, and took about 4 hours round-trip.
Here we are at the top. From L-R, that's Ron, Cathy, Dennis, and me. This was taken at the top of the ridge (with Dennis' superior-quality digital camera), at the end of the trail. On the right side of the picture you can see Olamana in Kailua. The weather for this hike was perfect; cool air (note Ron in jacket), high overcast, and good winds.
